Björk Biography

Bjork, an artist whose music lies somewhere between futuristic pop and the blindingly avant-garde, has come a long way since her most played track on spotify “It’s Oh So Quiet”. Bjork has released over 25 albums including studio releases, remix, live and soundtrack albums; she also has several collaborative projects under her belt both under her original name Bjork and under the short-lived trio project Björk Guðmundsdóttir & tríó Guðmundar Ingólfssonar.

Bjork began releasing music independently, under Elektra, from 1992 and is still dropping highly accoladed albums such as her most recent studio release, Utopia, in collaboration with the renowned and once deeply underground artist, Arca. The most popular track from this album, Blissing Me, has quite the ethereal yet extraterrestrial music video exceeding 2.5M views yet her most popular video, Stonemilker, exceeds 6.9M and hails from 2015’s Vulnicura album which, in terms of spotify plays, has been one of Bjork’s most unsuccessful albums to date.

Bjork’s other worldly music has continued to captivate audiences ever since her first self titled studio album under the label, Falkinn in 1977 – when she was just 11 years old. Bjork’s music and videos have never failed to astonish and broaden the boundaries of genres and music videos alike – we can’t wait to see what she does next.
