PERFECT 10 FOR “OPHELIA”

Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” rules the Billboard Hot 100 for a 10th week, becoming the first of her 13 career No. 1s to top the chart for double-digit weeks.  Here’s an updated recap of Swift’s signature 13 Hot 100 No. 1s, ranked by most weeks spent atop the chart:

  1. “The Fate of Ophelia,” 10 weeks at No. 1 to date, beginning Oct. 18, 2025
  2. “Anti-Hero,” eight weeks, beginning Nov. 5, 2022
  3. “Blank Space,” seven weeks, beginning Nov. 29, 2014
  4. “Cruel Summer,” four weeks, beginning Oct. 28, 2023
  5. “Shake It Off,” four weeks, beginning Sept. 6, 2014
  6. “Look What You Made Me Do,” three weeks, beginning Sept. 16, 2017
  7. “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” three weeks, beginning Sept. 1, 2012
  8. “Fortnight,” feat. Post Malone, two weeks, beginning May 4, 2024
  9. “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) [From the Vault],” one week, Nov. 11, 2023
  10. “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version),” one week, Nov. 27, 2021
  11. “Willow,” one week, Dec. 26, 2020
  12. “Cardigan,” one week, Aug. 8, 2020
  13. “Bad Blood,” feat. Kendrick Lamar, one week, June 6, 2015

“The Fate of Ophelia” contributes to Swift’s eight Hot 100 No. 1s totaling 28 weeks on top in the 2020s — both the most among all artists this decade.

Overall, Swift’s 13 No. 1s tie her for the fourth-most in the Hot 100’s history. She has spent 46 weeks atop the chart, tying Beyoncé for the seventh-most all-time.

“The Fate of Ophelia” claims its 10th week at No. 1 on the Hot 100 after parent album The Life of a Showgirl, on Republic, has tallied 12 weeks atop the Billboard 200. The LP becomes only the fifth to top the Billboard 200 for 10 or more weeks and generate a single that has likewise led the Hot 100 for at least that long.  Here’s a rundown of the elite albums to achieve the feat — with Santana’s Supernatural the only title on the list to yield two 10-week-plus No. 1s.

  • Taylor Swift, The Life of a Showgirl, 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 / “The Fate of Ophelia,” 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100 (2025-26)
  • Morgan Wallen, One Thing at a Time, 19 weeks / “Last Night,” 16 weeks (2023-24)
  • Adele, 25, 10 weeks / “Hello,” 10 weeks (2015-16)
  • Santana, Supernatural, 12 weeks / “Smooth,” feat. Rob Thomas, 12 weeks & “Maria Maria,” featuring the Product G&B, 10 weeks (1999-2000)
  • Whitney Houston, the Bodyguard Soundtrack, 20 weeks / “I Will Always Love You,” 14 weeks (1992-93)

“BEGINNING” OF DJO

Djo scores his first Hot 100 top 10, as “End of Beginning” soars 16-6, topping its prior No. 11 peak in March 2024.  The solo self-written, and co-produced, single is by the musical nom de plume of Joe Keery, of Netflix’s Stranger Things (not that he’s French; he’s from Newburyport, Mass., with Djo pronounced “Joe”). It reentered the Hot 100 a week earlier following the Dec. 31 premiere of the series’ finale, although the song is not heard in the episode.

Meanwhile, the song is the second to hit the Hot 100’s top 10 thanks to a tie-in to Stranger Things, which is set in the ‘80s: In 2022, Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” reached the region and rose to No. 3; it originally hit No. 30 in 1985. The alt classic scored a synch in the series’ fourth season.
