THE ‘SIX’CESS OF LANGLEY, “TEXAS”

“Choosin’ Texas” ties for the third-most time at No. 1 on the Hot 100 among songs that have ruled both the genre-wide chart and Hot Country Songs. Here’s an updated leaderboard — with four of the eight longest-leading such hits having reigned in the last three years:

• 19 weeks at No. 1 on the Hot 100, “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Shaboozey, 2024
• 16, “Last Night,” Morgan Wallen, 2023
• 6, “Choosin’ Texas,” Ella Langley, 2026

Among women, “Choosin’ Texas” doubles up on the previous longest-leading Hot 100 No. 1 that also topped Hot Country Songs, Swift’s “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”

Concurrently, Langley claims her second Hot 100 top 10 as “Be Her” bounds four places to No. 8. Both songs are from her sophomore LP, Dandelion, released Friday (April 10).

THE DEAN LANGLEY DOUBLE-DOUBLE

Olivia Dean again boasts her first two Hot 100 top 10s in the bracket as “Man I Need” adds a sixth nonconsecutive week at its No. 2 high and “So Easy (To Fall in Love)” is steady at No. 6.  With both Langley and Dean charting their first two Hot 100 top 10s each, via “Choosin’ Texas,” “Be Her,” “Man I Need” and “So Easy (To Fall in Love),” they’re the first acts to have their first two top 10s apiece in the region together.

Among solo women, however, thanks to Langley and Dean’s hits, this week marks the first time since the Hot 100 began in 1958 that two women have aligned to have their first two top 10s each in the tier together.
