SWIFT SECURES SECOND
Taylor Swift’s “I Knew It, I Knew You” lassos a second week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single from Toy Story 5, inspired by the film’s cowgirl star Jessie, launched a week earlier as Swift’s 15th career leader. She has the third-most No. 1s in the chart’s history, after only The Beatles (20) and Mariah Carey (19).
OLIVIA’S 4 “stupid song(s)”
Olivia Rodrigo charts four songs in the Hot 100’s top 10, all from her new album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, which blasts in atop the Billboard 200.
“stupid song” starts at No. 3 on the Hot 100. “drop dead,” which led the Hot 100 in its debut week in early May, rebounds 13-4; “the cure” climbs 17-6, three weeks after it debuted at its No. 5 high; and “honeybee” buzzes in at No. 9.
With her two debuts, Rodrigo ups her career count to 10 Hot 100 top 10s. Notably, with all having entered in the tier, she is the first woman to have debuted her first 10 top 10s in the region; among all acts, 21 Savage has also met that mark, with all 17 of his top 10s having begun the bracket, as has Metro Boomin (all 10).
Plus, with four Hot 100 top 10s from you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, Rodrigo matches Sour for her most from an album; Guts yielded two. Additionally, she logs four simultaneous top 10s for the first time, after landing as many as three at once for a week in June 2021.

I was born a poor Black child into a family that put the “fun” in dysfunction. But through that fun, there was A LOT of music. At a very young age, my parents introduced me to everything ranging from Doo Wop to the British Invasion to Motown to Philly Soul to Psychedlic Rock to Funk.
Since I’m a Jersey boy born-n-bred, I landed a job at WHTZ (Z100) as a producer. I gave the DJs info about artists to read on-air – most of mine were chart-related, naturally.
I did double duty at WSBG, a small market radio station in the Poconos, as a DJ because I have a face for radio.
Through a random twist of fate, I wound up at BMG Distribution in Times Square. Shortly after, I ended up at Arista (shouldn’t have done that!). My career in the music industry ended with a stint at being a personal assistant to alterna-rap act PM Dawn.
