Dave Matthews Band (abbreviated as DMB) is an American rock band founded in 1991 in Charlottesville, Virginia. Dave Matthews Band is one of the most influential bands in rock history, with a career spanning more than 25 years. Dave Matthews, a vocalist and guitarist, wanted to record some songs he’d written in 1991, and enlisted the help of drummer Carter Beauford and saxophonist LeRoi Moore, both established jazz performers in the Charlottesville, VA music scene.
