Don Henley is a founding member of the rock band Eagles and an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. From 1971 until the band’s disbandment in 1980, he was the Eagles‘ drummer and co-lead vocalist, and he has recreated both roles for the group’s reunions since 1994. Don Henley has written and performed some of our most beloved songs, including ‘Hotel California’ and ‘Desperado.’ On Eagles favorites like “Witchy Woman,” “Desperado,” “Best of My Love,” “One of These Nights,” “Hotel California,” “Life in the Fast Lane,” “The Long Run,” and “Get Over It,” he sang lead vocals. Donald Hugh Henley was born on July 22, 1947, in Gilmer, Texas, and grew up in Linden, a small town in northeast Texas. His ancestors are Irish, English, and Scottish. He was asked to join a Dixieland band created by his boyhood buddy Richard Bowden’s father Elmer, along with his school friend Jerry Surratt, while still in high school. The Four Speeds was founded as a result of their efforts.
