FanMade 40: The Top AI Music Chart

FanMade 40 is Top40Weekly’s weekly chart tracking the strongest-performing music emerging from the AI-music ecosystem — from human-led, AI-assisted recordings to fully AI-generated works. It’s built from weekly SIQA performance data and an adaptation of Top40Weekly’s Nolan Method, which rewards not just a strong week but consistency and staying power over time.

Where reliable public information exists, we add context — AI classification, authorization and Billboard crossover — and leave it blank when it can’t be verified. Read the full methodology and AI-music policy

Questions answered

FanMade 40 FAQ

What is the FanMade 40?
The FanMade 40 is Top40Weekly’s weekly chart ranking the 40 strongest-performing songs from the AI-music ecosystem, including AI-assisted, human + AI hybrid and fully AI-generated recordings.
How does the Nolan Method decide the order?

Each song earns points from its weekly SIQA position, with extra credit for strong debuts. Points accumulate, so the ranking reflects performance over time rather than only one week.

  • The order can differ from SIQA’s weekly ranking.
  • Songs can remain after leaving the SIQA Top 40.
  • Consistent longevity can beat a one-week spike.
What data does the FanMade 40 use?
The underlying source is the SIQA weekly chart, which tracks streaming, airplay and social-impact signals. Top40Weekly applies the Nolan Method rather than simply republishing SIQA’s order.
Does Billboard performance affect the ranking?
No. A verified Billboard crossover is shown as context beside an entry, but it never adds points to the FanMade 40 position.
What is the difference between AI-assisted and AI-generated music?
AI-assisted recordings involve significant human creative work supported by AI tools. Fully AI-generated recordings are produced largely by AI, while many tracks sit between them as human + AI hybrids. Labels appear only when reliable public information exists.
How often is the FanMade 40 updated?
The chart and Spotify playlist are updated weekly. Past editions remain available through the chart archive.
