Story Behind The Song By Ed Osborne
Like a story from the early days of rock ‘n’ roll, the Sister Hazel saga started when singer/guitarist Ken Block posted a notice around his hometown of Gainesville seeking “creative, open minded, positive, hard working people that wanted to dedicate themselves to a project.”
Through Ken’s ad, bassist Jeff Beres, lead guitarist Ryan Newell, and drummer Mark Trojanowski joined Ken and future SH guitarist Andrew Copeland, who were already working together as Ken & Andrew, and Sister Hazel was born.
Several years later the rest of America discovered the Florida band through their debut self-titled album and the breakout single All For You.
All For You entered the Hot 100 in early July and, just seven weeks later, reached the #11 position, where it lingered for five weeks. It then hung around for another 34 weeks; one of the ten longest running singles of the year.

Hi. I got my first record at age two and never looked back, spending a decades-long career in radio and the music business. Even after years of reading about and listening to all types of music, I am still fascinated by it. Apart from that, I’m endlessly intrigued by art, nature, and the inner lives of people (and dogs).
