Story Behind The Song By Ed Osborne

Talk about diversity! Of the three singers in Londonbeat, Jimmy Helms was a Florida-born Blackfoot Native-American, Jimmy Chambers hailed from Trinidad, and George Chandler from Atlanta lived in Italy. The fourth member was multi-instrumentalist Willy “Willy M” Henshall, the only member from England. Helms hit the UK Top 10 in 1973 with Gonna Make You An Offer You Can’t Refuse, Chambers had sung alongside Robert Palmer in Vinegar Joe, while Chandler charted in the late 1970’s as part of the Olympic Runners. Londonbeat first cracked the British Top 20 with 9 A.M. (The Comfort Zone. When Falling In Love Again fell, the members of Londonbeat began working individually on song ideas for an exisitng drum and bass track. Jimmy Chambers was in bed with a cold when inspiration struck. I’ve Been Thinking About You reached #2 in the fall of 1990 before being released in the States, where it slowly worked its way to #1.
