Touch Me (All Night Long) – Cathy Dennis | Top 40 Chart Performance, Story and Song Meaning
Chart Performance: Pop (#2 for 2 weeks); 1991
Story Behind The Song By Ed Osborne
Prior to her monster solo hit, Touch Me (All Night Long), Cathy Dennis was the featured vocalist on the Top 10 hit by D-Mob, C’mon And Get My Love. Simon Fuller, producer Dancin’ Danny D’s (aka D Mob) manager, spotted Cathy performing in a covers band, and tagged her to work with Danny.
Danny, in turn, used Cathy on C’mon and a follow-up single That’s Way Of The World. Moving on to solo work, Cathy scored with Just Another Dream (#9) in early 1992. For her next single she recorded a song that was a minor R&B hit in 1985 for Wish Featuring Fonda Rae – Touch Me (All Night Long).
After Too Many Walls, Cathy’s singing career waned. She continued to have huge success as a writer for U.K. teen idols S Club 7, the brainchild of Simon Fuller, the U.K. television phenom Pop Idols, and Kylie Minoque (Can’t Get You Out Of My Head).

Hi. I got my first record at age two and never looked back, spending a decades-long career in radio and the music business. Even after years of reading about and listening to all types of music, I am still fascinated by it. Apart from that, I’m endlessly intrigued by art, nature, and the inner lives of people (and dogs).
